The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper and Davis Broadcasting, Inc. announced they will host the second installment of their 2026 Candidate Forum Series on Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the City Services Center, 3111 Citizens Way.
The event will be moderated by Geniece Granville, vice president and general manager of Davis Broadcasting, Inc., and Wane A. Hailes, president and publisher of The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper.
The forum will feature candidates seeking election to the Columbus City Council District 9 at-large seat, offering voters an opportunity to hear directly from those vying for the position ahead of the May 19 election.

Granville said the event will include a panel of leaders representing minority civic, faith-based, business and social organizations from across the region. Panelists are expected to pose questions addressing key issues affecting the community, including economic development, public safety, neighborhood investment and equitable access to resources.
The forum will follow a format used in previous election cycles, emphasizing direct engagement between candidates and voters while focusing on substantive, issue-based discussion.
According to Hailes the Candidate Forum Series is designed to inform and empower voters by providing a platform for candidates to share their perspectives and help residents better understand their positions on issues impacting the city.
