Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is expected to appoint David B. Ranieri and Alex M. Shalishali to two judgeships on the State Court of Muscogee County, according to sources familiar with the anticipated appointments who spoke with The Courier Eco Latino.
Although an official announcement has not been made, sources indicate that the governor is preparing to name the two attorneys to the bench, filling judicial vacancies in Muscogee County.

David B. Ranieri and Alex M. Shalishali
Ranieri currently serves as chief judge of the Recorder's Court of Columbus, where he oversees proceedings involving municipal ordinance violations and other matters within the court's jurisdiction.
Shalishali is a shareholder and attorney with the Columbus law firm Page, Scrantom, Sprouse, Tucker & Ford, P.C. He also serves as county attorney for the Dougherty County Board of Commissioners, bringing experience in private practice and local government law.
The anticipated appointments follow a judicial selection process in which candidates were evaluated for positions on the State Court bench. The vacancies include a position created by the resignation of Judge Andy Prather and an additional judgeship authorized by the Georgia General Assembly.
Both Ranieri and Shalishali were among the candidates recommended to the governor by Georgia's Judicial Nominating Commission.
If confirmed through an official announcement, the appointments would bring two attorneys with different professional backgrounds to the Muscogee County judiciary.
The State Court of Muscogee County handles misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic offenses and civil matters within its jurisdiction, making the selection of judges an important decision for the local judicial system.
Editorial note: The appointments are presented as anticipated, not confirmed. The reporting is attributed to The Courier Eco Latino's sources, and the official announcement remains pending.
