Friendship Baptist Church, officers and members are pleased to announce the selection of the Rev. Dr. Arthur H. Mitchell as their new pastor. Pastor Mitchell officially accepted the call and will preach his first sermon as pastor-elect on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024.
Mitchell and his wife, Natasha Camille Mitchell, is currently the Executive Pastor of Mount Moriah Church of Tucker, Ga.
Licensed to preach in December 2009 and ordained in April 2017 at Springfield Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Eric W. Lee, Mitchell served faithfully for 15 years in various positions.
After obeying the call to preach, in 2013, Mitchell graduated from Morehouse School of Religion at The Interdenominational Theological Center, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree with a double concentration in Homiletics and Christian Ethics.
Mitchell is a dedicated disciple committed to sharing the Gospel with an earnest desire to engage, equip and empower others in the body of Christ. He and his wife have two children, their son Jaydon and daughter Jada Kai.
Mitchell’s installation will be announced in February of 2025.
In the meantime, worship and fellowship Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, located at 831 6th Ave., Columbus, Ga.
