The Tri-City Latino Association has launched the Harold “Lefty” Encarnacion Community Scholarship Program, an initiative created to inspire Latino students to pursue higher education and achieve their aspirations.
The program was founded by Evelyn “Mimi” Woodson and Harold “Lefty” Encarnacion, longtime friends who sought to honor Latin culture while bringing together people from diverse backgrounds.
“This scholarship is about more than financial support—it’s about uniting communities and celebrating the contributions of Latino heritage,” Woodson said in announcing the program.
The scholarship is open to members of the Latino community across the Tri-City area. Applications are now available online.
