Hugley’s Attorney Lays out Charges of Racial Discrimination in Firing by Columbus City Council

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Jerry Allen, 57, wanted in connection with a stabbing on Saturday, Oct. 26, in downtown Columbus, has been taken into custody, Columbus police announced Oct. 30.
Officers responded to a call around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday at Ralston Tower, where they found a man suffering from a severe stab wound. The victim was initially treated at Piedmont Columbus Regional before being flown to an Atlanta hospital.
Police identified Allen as the suspect and issued a warrant for aggravated assault, asking the public for assistance. He was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and is set to appear in Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1.
