Early voting began Monday and will continue through May 15, offering residents multiple opportunities to cast their ballots ahead of the May 19 election.
Voters may participate in early voting at the Shirley B. Winston Recreation Center, Northside Recreation Center and the City Services Center, according to local election officials.
With all candidate forums now concluded, attention shifts from discussion to participation. Community leaders are urging residents to take an active role in the electoral process by casting their ballots.

“Your vote does count,” said Wane Hailes, publisher of the Courier Eco Latino newspaper noting that turnout — not online opinion — ultimately determines election outcomes.

According to Nancy Boren, Director of Elections and registration over 15oo votes were cast on the first day of early voting.
