Bishop announces district schedule for week of April 6

U.S. Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr. announced a series of public appearances and events across Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District for the week of April 6, focusing on rural health care, agriculture and community engagement.
On Monday, Bishop is scheduled to hold a 4:45 p.m. press conference at the Randolph County Hospital Administration offices, 386 Randolph St. in Cuthbert. The event will highlight ongoing efforts to improve rural health care, including initiatives aimed at reopening the regional hospital. The stop will conclude a day of visits with agricultural producers in Quitman, Clay, Early and Calhoun counties.
On Tuesday, Bishop will host a 2:15 p.m. press conference at The Strawberry Patch at Taylor Orchards, 822 Whipporwill Road in Reynolds. The event will focus on his work supporting agricultural producers in Middle and Southwest Georgia and follows a day touring farms in Marion, Schley, Macon and Taylor counties.
Bishop is also scheduled to attend the Fort Valley State University “Ham & Eggs” Legislative Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at 1005 State University Drive in Fort Valley, where he is expected to deliver remarks.
On Friday, Bishop will attend the investiture ceremony for Dr. Robert Scott at Albany State University. The event is set for 2 p.m. at the Billy C. Black Auditorium, 504 College Drive in Albany.
The week will conclude Saturday with Bishop hosting the annual Congressional Art Competition for Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District at 9:30 a.m. at the Albany Museum of Art, 311 Meadowlark Drive in Albany.
