They call us the “old ones” now.
But let me tell you something—that label doesn’t come from weakness… it comes from mileage. It comes from miles walked, storms weathered, and seasons survived.
We were born in the 50s and 60s… Raised in the turbulence and transformation of the 60s and 70s… Educated in the 70s and 80s… Loved, lived, and learned through the 80s and 90s…
We didn’t just pass through time—time passed through us. We came of age when the world was still analog—when patience wasn’t optional, it was required. When you had to wait your turn, earn your keep, and stand on your word. And then, just when we got comfortable, the world shifted under our feet—and we shifted with it.
We went from operator-assisted phone calls… to FaceTime across continents.
From vinyl records… to streaming music in our pockets. From handwritten letters… to instant messages. From black-and-white television… to high-definition everything. From corner stores and video rentals… to a world where everything is on demand.
We didn’t resist change—we mastered it. We saw the birth of computers… when they filled rooms and spoke in punch cards… Now we carry more power in our pockets than entire corporations once held in their buildings.
We dressed the eras… bell bottoms, bomber jackets, denim, and everything in between. We rode everything… bicycles, mopeds, muscle cars… and now watch the world glide silently in electric motion.
And through it all—we survived. Polio. Social unrest. Economic shifts.
Technological revolutions. and yes… even a global pandemic, COVID.
We are not just a generation—we are a bridge.A bridge between what was… and what is. Between the discipline of the past… and the speed of the present. We are proof that you can come from an analog world… and still thrive in a digital one.
So don’t let anybody reduce us to “old.” We are seasoned. We are tested. We are witnesses to history—and participants in progress. And if you listen closely, you’ll hear it… Not just a story of survival— But a testimony of adaptation, resilience, and grace.
So here’s to the Baby Boomers— One of a kind. Still standing. Still teaching. Still evolving. And still… making a way.
