When Purpose Meets Passion, Provision Follows

There’s something powerful that happens when you stop living by accident and start living on purpose. I’ve come to learn that everyone—yes, everyone—was created with a divine purpose that God placed inside them before they were ever formed in their mother’s womb. You are not here by chance. You’re not a random mistake or a filler in the story of someone else’s life. You were born with something this world needs—and until you discover it, there will always be a part of you that feels incomplete.

But here’s the thing: your purpose is often hidden in plain sight. It’s tucked inside that thing you do effortlessly. The thing that makes you come alive. The thing you’d do for free, but when done right, will eventually pay you in ways money never could. That’s passion.

When your passion lines up with your purpose, you become unstoppable. Not because life suddenly gets easy, but because now you're walking in alignment with the will of God. And let me tell you something—when you're in alignment, doors open that no man can shut. Opportunities chase you down. Resources find you. Why? Because you're not chasing after provision, you're chasing after purpose —and provision is always assigned to purpose.

Let me make this plain. The Bible says, “Your gift will make room for you and bring you before great men” (Proverbs 18:16). But it doesn’t say your job. It doesn’t say your résumé. It says your gift. That thing inside you that God placed there before you even knew what a paycheck was.

Too many people are stuck in careers that look good on paper but starve their spirit. They show up for a job they can do, but not one they were called to do. They work to survive, not to serve. And that’s the difference. Purpose always involves service. If your passion only feeds you and never feeds anyone else, it may not be purpose—it may be pride.

Now I know some folks might say, “Well, that sounds nice, but I’ve got bills to pay.” And trust me, I understand that. But I’m not saying quit your job tomorrow and go chase a dream with no preparation. I’m saying start cultivating your passion while you're in your current season. Start watering what’s been planted inside of you. Work your job, but don’t neglect your gift. Use your 9 to 5 to finance your purpose until your purpose can fund itself.

I’ll never forget a conversation I had with an elder years ago. I told him I felt something tugging at me—an itch I couldn’t scratch. I wasn’t unhappy, but I wasn’t fulfilled. He looked me square in the eyes and said, “Son, that’s God’s calling. He’s waking up the gift inside you.” That conversation changed everything. It made me stop asking, “What can I do for money?” and start asking, “What did God create me to do for meaning?”

Since then, I’ve discovered that purpose isn’t always glamorous. It doesn't always come with applause or instant success. Sometimes it’s lonely. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s just you, God and faith the size of a mustard seed. But when you stay committed to it—when you honor it—your life begins to blossom in ways you never imagined.

And here's the beautiful thing: your purpose will not just bless you—it will bless everyone connected to you. Your children. Your spouse. Your church. Your community. Because when you operate in your calling, you shift the atmosphere. You create legacy. You inspire others to rise up and do the same.

So, if you're reading this today wondering whether there’s more to life than what you’ve been doing—I’m here to tell you: "Yes, there is." There’s more. But the “more” isn’t out there somewhere; it’s already inside of you.

Don’t chase the money. Chase the mission. Don’t pursue fame. Pursue faithfulness. Because when purpose and passion come together, God handles the paycheck. Provision follows obedience. Breakthrough follows belief.

Find your passion, and you’ll find your purpose. Find your purpose, and you’ll unlock your provision. The world doesn’t need more people working jobs they hate— it needs more people walking in their God-given calling.

Let today be the day you stop asking, “What can I get?” and start asking, “What was I made to give?” That’s where purpose lives. And when you live with purpose, you’ll never live without peace.
