Tri-City Latino Festival Canceled for 2025 Due to Economic Challenges

Organizers of the Tri-City Latino Festival announced that this year’s event, originally scheduled for Sept. 20 in downtown Columbus, has been canceled due to economic difficulties and ongoing safety concerns.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the Tri-City Latino Festival… will not be held,” said Elica Ojeda, president of the Tri-City Latino Association (TCLA), in a written statement released Monday. “This difficult decision stems from unfortunate economic circumstances, the challenge of forecasting future events, and prioritizing the safety of our Tri-City community.”

The annual festival, which has been held for over a decade, is one of the region’s most celebrated multicultural events, drawing thousands to honor Latino heritage through music, food, dance, and community connection.

“While the festival, a labor of love and a celebration of our vibrant Latino cultures, will not be held this year, the Tri-City Latino Association’s mission to unite our region and foster cross-cultural understanding remains strong,” Ojeda said.

TCLA Vice President Evelyn “Mimi” Woodson added that the organization is committed to continuing its work despite the cancellation. “We will actively explore future opportunities and promote the diverse cultures that enrich our community,” she said.

Organizers extended thanks to longtime sponsors, volunteers, and supporters from Columbus and surrounding areas. “Your dedication has been invaluable,” the statement read.

TCLA says it will provide updates as plans for future cultural initiatives develop.
