The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper and Davis Broadcasting, Inc., the community’s leading Black media organizations, proudly present the first of three candidate forums.

Davis Broadcasting, Inc. and The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper will host the first installment of the 2026 Candidate Forum Series on Thursday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the City Services Center, 3111 Citizens Way.

The forum will feature candidates seeking election in City Council Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7, providing voters with an opportunity to hear directly from those vying to represent their communities.

Organizers confirmed that Candidate Karen Gaskins (District 1) and Candidate Charmaine Crabb (District 5, incumbent) will not be in attendance due to prior commitments.

Leaders from minority civic, faith-based, business, and social organizations across the region will serve as panelists, submitting questions focused on key issues impacting the community.

The forums will follow a format used in previous election cycles, emphasizing direct candidate engagement and issue-based discussion.

“This series is designed to ensure voters have clear access to the candidates and their positions on the issues that matter most,” organizers said in a joint statement.

The forums will be moderated by Geniece Granville, vice president and general manager of Davis Broadcasting, Inc., and Wane A. Hailes, president and publisher of The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper.

All forums will be broadcast live on WOKS AM 1340/94.1 and K92.7, and livestreamed on The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper’s Facebook page, expanding access for residents across the region.

Organizers encourage community members to attend and participate in what is expected to be a robust and informative series of discussions leading up to Election Day.
