Stop Explaining the Bite—Start Healing the Wound

Stop Explaining the Bite—Start Healing the Wound

Imagine getting bit by a snake…and instead of tending to your wound, stopping the bleeding, and saving your life—you spend your time chasing the snake, trying to explain to it why it shouldn’t have bitten you. “Do you know how much I did for you?” “Do you understand how I showed up for you?”
“Do you see how much I cared?”

But let me something… A snake don’t need a reason. It’s a snake.

See, a whole lot of people are stuck, not because they were hurt… but because they’re still trying to make sense of the one who hurt them. You wasting healing time trying to get accountability from something that was never built to give it. You trying to educate a snake on loyalty. You trying to teach a snake about love. You trying to explain your value to something that only knows how to strike.

And while you chasing understanding… your wound is still open.

That’s why some folks never heal. Because they’re too busy replaying the bite… instead of repairing the damage. Closure doesn’t always come from them… sometimes it comes from you deciding, “I don’t need an explanation to move on.” Because the truth is… Some people didn’t betray you—they revealed themselves.

And once something shows you its nature, your assignment is not to argue with it… your assignment is to adjust to it. Stop asking, “Why would they do this to me?” Start asking, “Why am I still giving energy to something that hurt me?” You don’t heal by proving your worth to what wounded you. You heal by removing yourself from it.

Bandage your spirit. Protect your peace. Guard your heart. And understand this—every minute you spend trying to convince the snake… is a minute you’re delaying your own recovery. Let the snake be a snake. And you… be wise enough to walk away and heal. Because in the end, it ain’t about the bite… It’s about whether you chose to recover. And some of y’all don’t need closure… You need distance, discipline, and healing.

So stop explaining the pain… And start healing from it.
