Police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old who was found fatally shot on Buena Vista Road on Jan. 24, 2025.
Officers responded to the 6500 block of Buena Vista Road at 5:25 p.m. after receiving a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, they discovered Rashod Barrett, a Black male, with a fatal gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene but were unable to resuscitate Barrett. Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison pronounced him dead at 6:06 p.m.
The Columbus Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation into the shooting.
