Murder Suspect Arrested in Columbus Shooting

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this week in Columbus, police said.

Jeremiah West was taken into custody on Dec. 19 and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to authorities.

West is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in Recorder’s Court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23.

The arrest follows an investigation led by the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit. Police have not released additional details about the case.
