The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced upcoming lane closures and traffic shifts on U.S. 80 at Bradley Park Drive to allow contractors to replace bridge headers at the Diverging Diamond Interchange.
The work will take place in two phases. Phase one will close the inside lanes of J.R. Allen Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6. The outside lanes will remain open. Phase two will close the outside lanes from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, through 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, with inside lanes remaining open.
Officials warn motorists to expect heavy traffic delays throughout both phases. The schedule is subject to change depending on weather or other factors.
Drivers are urged to reduce speed, use caution, and remain alert in the work zone.
