There’s a difference between knowledge and wisdom—and if you miss it, you’ll spend your whole life sounding smart but still living wrong. Knowledge knows the facts. Wisdom knows what to do with them. Knowledge will tell you a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom will whisper, “Don’t you dare put it in a fruit salad.”
See, knowledge reads the book… But wisdom has lived the chapter. Knowledge can quote it… Wisdom can survive it. And if you listen closely, you’ll hear the difference in how they speak. Knowledge talks fast—trying to prove a point. Wisdom talks slow trying to solve a problem. Knowledge says, “I told you so.” Wisdom says, “Let me show you a better way.”
You can Google knowledge… But you’ve got to earn wisdom. Knowledge comes from information.
Wisdom comes from experience… and sometimes pain… and sometimes mistakes you don’t even post about. Oh yes… the kind of lessons you don’t put on Facebook. The kind that humbles you. The kind that change you.
Knowledge will impress people. But wisdom will protect you. And don’t get it twisted—being informed is not the same as being prepared. Because knowledge can fill your head… But wisdom will guide your life. And here’s the truth we don’t always want to admit— Some of us know too much… and understand too little. We’ve mastered information… but neglected transformation.
But if you’re going to grow… if you’re going to move where God is trying to take you… you’re going to need more than facts. You’re going to need discernment. You’re going to need patience. You’re going to need the kind of wisdom that only comes from walking through some things… and learning from them.
So don’t just chase knowledge… Ask God for wisdom. Because knowledge may tell you what something is…But wisdom will show you what it means. And when life starts lifing… You won’t need something that sounds good—You’ll need something that holds you up.
That’s the difference. That’s the lesson.
