Naseia Richardson-Moore, a 19-year-old boxer from Columbus, Georgia, captured the 2025 National Golden Gloves Championship title in the Elite Male 154-pound division, marking a major milestone in his first year competing at the elite level and continuing a proud family tradition of boxing excellence.
Richardson-Moore, who represented the Southeast region, won the championship on May 17 at the Arvest Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he displayed standout skill, focus, and composure throughout the weeklong tournament.
“I was just ready. I told myself, ‘Let’s go in and get the business done,’” Richardson-Moore said of his tournament mindset.
This victory adds to an already impressive amateur record. The young fighter previously earned the 132-pound title at the 2022 National Silver Gloves Championship and now boasts more than 90 bouts under his belt.
Boxing runs deep in Richardson-Moore’s blood. His father, Remerson Moore, is a former Golden Gloves champion himself and began training Naseia from a young age.
“His dad has had him in gloves and hand wraps, teaching him everything he knows since he could walk,” said Queenetta Richardson, his mother. “We’ve been watching him show boxing potential since he was about three years old.”
The family’s commitment to the sport has been instrumental in his rise. In addition to his parents, Richardson-Moore credits his aunt, grandfather, brother—his regular sparring partner— and his coach for their ongoing support.
Richardson-Moore trains at Haygood Boxing Gym under Coach Rick Carrillo, whose guidance has helped shape the young boxer into a national standout. With his latest win, Richardson-Moore is setting his sights on joining the USA Boxing team, competing in the Olympic trials, and eventually turning professional.
“If you see something you want to do, just stay focused and keep going,” he advised other aspiring athletes.
Richardson-Moore’s victory not only elevates his personal career but also shines a spotlight on the Southeast’s growing boxing talent—and brings a sense of pride to his hometown of Columbus.
His mother describes him in one word: “Humble.”
