Georgia House Minority Leader Carolyn Hugley, a longtime Democratic lawmaker from Columbus, won re-election Tuesday, Nov. 3, securing another term representing House District 141 in the Georgia General Assembly.
Hugley, one of the most influential Democratic voices in Georgia politics, has served in the state House since 1993. Her re-election extends a legislative career spanning more than three decades of public service.
As House minority leader, Hugley holds one of the highest-ranking Democratic leadership positions in the Georgia Legislature. She plays a central role in shaping her party's legislative priorities, coordinating policy positions and representing Democratic lawmakers in negotiations with Republican leadership.
Throughout her tenure, Hugley has advocated for public education, access to affordable health care, economic development and policies supporting working families.
Her continued service also maintains an experienced voice for Columbus and Muscogee County at the state Capitol.
With another term secured, Hugley will return to Atlanta as Georgia lawmakers prepare for the 2027 legislative session, where education funding, health care, economic development and other statewide priorities are expected to remain prominent issues.
