Essence & Solomon Boutique Celebrates Grand Opening at Peachtree Mall

Business leaders, community members and elected officials gathered Monday to celebrate the grand opening of Essence & Solomon Boutique with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

The boutique, located inside Peachtree Mall at 3131 Manchester Expressway, opened its doors with a midday ceremony that highlighted both entrepreneurship and community investment in Council District 5. Guests had the opportunity to network with local leaders while enjoying refreshments and a promotional 15% discount on in-store purchases.

Owner Dessence Solomon, who transitioned her online business into a brick-and-mortar location, said the move represented both a personal and professional milestone. After nearly two decades in fashion design and retail marketing, Solomon said the decision to launch her own boutique was fueled by a desire to create opportunities and fully pursue her passion.

Solomon said the boutique was designed to fill a gap in the fashion industry by offering high-quality, affordable clothing that reflects the style, diversity and lived experiences of modern women. She emphasized the importance of representation and creating a space where women of all backgrounds can find fashion that resonates with them.

The grand opening marked a significant step in Solomon’s entrepreneurial journey, which she said required careful planning, financial discipline and faith. She credited her support system and commitment to continuous learning as key factors in bringing her vision to life.

Community members who attended the event expressed enthusiasm for the boutique’s arrival, noting its potential to enhance the local retail landscape while supporting a Black woman-owned business.

Solomon said she plans to continue growing the brand, with long-term goals that include expanding into additional locations and serving broader markets, including nearby Alabama communities.
