The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the UNCF Columbus Steering Committee will officially launch the 2026–2027 Columbus Campaign
ESPN 95.7 will debut a new high school football program, "The Playbook," on Thursday, Aug. 6, featuring veteran local sports broadcaster Ant Merritt and co-host Mike Woods.
The 30-minute program will air every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, focusing on high school football across Muscogee County and neighboring communities in Georgia and Alabama.
The station will officially introduce the program during a press conference at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Davis Broadcasting Inc. offices, 2203 Wynnton Road. Local media outlets have been invited to attend.
"The Playbook" will feature a different format throughout the week.
Monday broadcasts will recap the weekend's top high school football storylines, including highlights from the station's Friday Night High School Football Game of the Week. The program will review scores, standout performances and key moments from games throughout the Chattahoochee Valley.
On Wednesdays, the show will feature "The Playbook Huddle," a live-streamed segment originating from locations throughout the community. Coaches, student-athletes and special guests will discuss team preparation, strategy and the upcoming football season while sharing stories from local programs.
Thursday editions will preview the upcoming Game of the Week and other marquee matchups across Muscogee County, Georgia and eastern Alabama. The show will include roster updates, players to watch, matchup analysis and game predictions.
"The Playbook is about celebrating the drama, discipline and dedication of high school athletes and the coaches who shape them," Merritt said. "We'll bring real insight, real interviews and real passion to ESPN 95.7 every week."
Woods said the program aims to provide comprehensive coverage of local high school football throughout the season.
"From Friday night highlights to game previews, we're here to give listeners a complete look at high school football across Muscogee County and the surrounding region," Woods said.
The program is produced by ESPN 95.7 and is designed to provide listeners with game coverage, analysis, interviews and updates through radio broadcasts, online platforms and social media.
