Opinion: The Enduring Importance of the Black Press
The role of the Black Press has never been more critical. Since its inception with Freedom’s Journal in 1827,
Columbus residents are invited to join a community Election Night Watch Party hosted by the NAACP Columbus branch. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church’s A.W. Fortson Education Building, located at 831 6th Avenue.
This free gathering offers community members a space to come together, watch election results live, and engage in meaningful discussions about the future of the nation. Light refreshments will be available for attendees.
