Dr. Rocky Roy C. Marsh, Jr. Announces Candidacy for Columbus City Council, District 9 At-Large

Columbus, GA – Dr. Rocky Roy C. Marsh, Jr. has officially filed his intent to run for office with the Muscogee County Elections Office and is proud to announce his candidacy for the Columbus City Council District 9 At-Large seat in the 2026 election.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Marsh relocated to Columbus in 2015 following his retirement from the United States Army. He currently serves as a Department of Defense Budget Analyst at Fort Benning and is actively involved in numerous civic and community initiatives. His leadership roles include serving as the Fort Benning Liaison on the Columbus Crime Prevention Committee, Founder of the Fountain City Mardi Gras Association, Chairperson of the Columbus Juneteenth Pageant, and Vice President of the River Valley Black Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Life Member of the Columbus, GA Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Dr. Marsh is married to Delois Dee Marsh, a Birmingham, AL native, business owner, Columbus Airport Commissioner, and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Recognized as an astute professional and visionary leader, Dr. Marsh has consistently demonstrated a commitment to public service, small business advocacy, and civic engagement. His campaign, “Rocky Marsh for Columbus,” will promote safe neighborhoods, economic opportunity, and transparent leadership for all residents of Columbus.
