Davis Broadcasting Inc. Celebrates 40 Years of Broadcasting Excellence and Community Service

As the nation celebrates Black Music Month this June, Davis Broadcasting Inc. is proud to commemorate a major milestone — 40 years of broadcasting excellence, cultural impact, and unwavering community service.

Founded on June 15, 1986, by Gregory Davis, President and CEO of Davis Broadcasting Inc., the company began with radio stations serving Columbus, Georgia and Augusta, Georgia. What started as a bold vision to create a locally owned, minority-owned, and family-owned broadcasting company has grown into one of the most respected independent broadcasting companies in the Southeast.
Over the past four decades, Davis Broadcasting has expanded its footprint into additional markets including Charlotte, North Carolina, Macon, Georgia, and Atlanta, Georgia. Today, the company owns and operates 13 radio station frequencies throughout Georgia, serving diverse audiences through multiple formats and platforms.

Columbus, Ga Radio Stations include Foxie 105, K92.7, Praise 100.7, WOKS AM1340/94.1 FM, ESPN 95.7, Hits 104.5. Atlanta , GA Radio Stations include La Raza 102.3/107.1, La Mega 96.5/105.1, and Smooth Jazz 101.1/100.1.

Throughout its 40-year history, Davis Broadcasting has remained deeply committed to the communities it serves. From food giveaways, school supply drives, health and wellness initiatives, to scholarship support, cultural celebrations, voter engagement campaigns, hospital radiothons, and partnerships with local nonprofits, the company has consistently used its platforms to uplift and empower listeners across the Southeast.

“As we celebrate 40 years of broadcasting, I am incredibly grateful to our listeners, advertisers, employees, and community partners who have supported Davis Broadcasting throughout this journey,” said Gregory Davis, President and CEO of Davis Broadcasting Inc. “When we started this company in 1986, our mission was simple — serve the community while providing excellence in broadcasting. Forty years later, that mission remains the same. We are honored to continue being a trusted voice and community partner for both markets in which we operate.”

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, Davis Broadcasting is launching “40 Days of Service,” a yearlong community initiative across both the Columbus and Atlanta markets. Staying true to the company’s founding principles, team members and radio stations will participate in volunteer efforts, charitable initiatives, community outreach programs, and service projects throughout the year.
“For 40 years, service has been at the heart of everything we do,” added Davis. “We believe the best way to celebrate our anniversary is by giving back to the communities that have given so much to us.”
