The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper has opened nominations for its inaugural 2026 “40 Under 40” Awards, a new recognition program
The Courier Eco Latino Newspaper has opened nominations for its inaugural 2026 “40 Under 40” Awards, a new recognition program honoring outstanding African American professionals across the tri-city area.
The awards aim to spotlight emerging leaders under the age of 40 who are making significant contributions in their industries while demonstrating a strong commitment to community service. According to Publisher Wane A. Hailes, the initiative builds on the publication’s longstanding tradition of recognizing excellence through its CEL: Community Service, Lift Her Up and Lift Him Up honors.

The 40 Under 40 program will recognize individuals who exemplify leadership, innovation and integrity, and who are helping to shape the future of the region through professional achievement and civic engagement. Honorees will be selected based on their impact in areas including economic empowerment, education, faith-based initiatives, politics and community development.
“This inaugural class represents the next generation of trailblazers who are not only succeeding in their careers but are also committed to uplifting others and strengthening our communities,” Hailes said in a statement.
Nominees must be African American professionals, executives or business owners under the age of 40 who have demonstrated measurable success in their field. Candidates should also serve as positive role models and show a consistent record of community involvement or organizational leadership.
Selected honorees will join a growing network of Courier Eco Latino-recognized leaders whose work continues to influence and inspire across the Chattahoochee Valley.
