Community health resource fair set for Jan. 31 at The Food Mill Shared Kitchen in Columbus

Residents will have an opportunity to access health screenings, safety education and community services during a Community Health Resource Fair set for Saturday, Jan. 31.

The event, hosted by the Mayor’s Commission on Health in partnership with The Food Mill, Columbus Fire and EMS, and Columbus Correct Care, will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Food Mill Shared Kitchen, 3720 5th Ave., Columbus.

Organizers said the fair is free and open to the public and will feature multiple vendors offering free or low-cost services and information. Participating organizations include MercyMed, Valley Healthcare, St. Francis, Oak Street Health, Safe House and additional community partners.

In addition to health resources such as vital sign checks and informational materials, the event will include fire safety education provided through Columbus Fire and EMS.

The fair will also feature live cooking demonstrations, music, games and other family-friendly activities, organizers said.

Transportation to and from the event will be available through METRA. Organizers said transportation vouchers can be obtained through the METRA Transfer Center.
