Columbus State’s Robert Moore Named Herbert Greene Coach of the Year

Columbus State men’s basketball coach Robert Moore has been named the Herbert Greene Coach of the Year, earning the honor outright for the first time in his career.

Moore, now in his 15th season at the helm of the Cougars, previously shared the award as Co-Coach of the Year in 2015–16. This season, he has guided CSU to unprecedented success, including the program’s highest national ranking at No. 6.

The Cougars enter postseason play with a 26-3 record, closing the regular season at 25-3 overall and 16-2 in conference action. CSU is riding a 10-game winning streak and sits as the top-rated team in the Southeast Region.

The 2024–25 campaign marks Moore’s fifth season with at least 20 wins and the most victories of his career. With momentum on their side, the Cougars are poised to contend for a deep run in the national tournament.
