Chicken-w-Bones, a beloved brand in Chattanooga, Tenn., for more than 15 years, has expanded from its successful brick-and-mortar establishment to include three thriving food trucks, and now a restaurant located at 1112 8th Ave., Columbus, Ga. 31906.
The warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a hearty dining experience. Whether you’re stopping by for their juicy fried chicken, crispy potato logs or one-of-a-kind fried rolls filled with decadent sweet butter, every dish is prepared with care and bursts with authentic flavor.
According to the franchise website, the restaurant uses 100 percent fresh, natural chicken that is never frozen.
"Our hand-breaded fried chicken is moist and juicy on the inside, golden and crispy on the outside, while our baked chicken is marinated and seasoned to perfection," the website description said. "Our potato wedges are hand cut, hand battered and fried crispy. In addition, we offer deep fried and oven baked yeast rolls, each glazed with a hint of sweetness."
Before going into the restaurant business, Denise Goettie worked as a corporate trainer. She and her husband, Ben, who is a Columbus native, moved to the area after getting married.
She decided to open a franchise in Columbus to earn income during her retirement years.
"We had been talking about doing something for our retirement, and we didn't want to spend another 10-to-15 years working for somebody," Goettie said.
Investing in the franchise was a lengthy process, but it has been the right decision for the couple.
"I would say the best thing about opening the franchise is the independence of it, because even though we answer to the franchise, we still work for ourselves," Denise Goettie said.
The restaurant also serves as an event center, offering catering services.
"Our space spans 4,500 square feet with our event hall," Denise Goettie said. "I have always wanted to be a caterer and now I can."
Customers are taken with the unique service exprerience.
Patrons choose one of the five sizes of buckets, put on gloves and fill their bucket with as much chicken, potato wedges and fried rolls as they'd like.
As long as the top closes, they're good to go.
The restaurant prides itself on using quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods, giving each dish a homemade touch that feels like a comforting embrace. The friendly service only adds to the experience, making guests feel right at home.
