Every now and then life has a way of reminding us that faith is not just about shouting during the miracle — it’s about trusting God in the middle of the mess.
Let me be honest with you this morning. Somebody reading this right now is going to have a messy situation at some point. Somebody is going to face frustration. Somebody is going to run into a moment where things don’t line up the way you planned them. That’s life. That’s reality. And that’s part of the human journey.
Now don’t misunderstand me. I believe in miracles. I believe God still opens doors that no man can shut. I believe He still makes ways out of no way. I believe He still heals, restores, and delivers.
But while miracles are happening, we still have to deal with the minutia of life — the small headaches, the unexpected turns, the moments that test our patience and stretch our faith. And sometimes it isn’t pleasant. But I have learned something about God over the years. Sometimes the Lord lets you see some things in one season so you won’t panic in the next one.
If you think about it he let you walk through something in 2025 so that now in 2026 you don’t stress like you used to. You don’t worry like you used to. You don’t complain like you used to. Why? Because you’ve already seen Him work. You’ve already watched Him turn things around. You’ve already seen Him step-in right-on time. So, when the next challenge shows up — and it will — you don’t have to fall apart. Instead, you can stand flat-footed and say with confidence:
“If He did it before, He can do it again.”
Some of you reading this have already lived long enough to know that God has brought you through things you never thought you’d survive. He kept food on the table when money was tight. He opened doors when people tried to close them. He made a way when there was no way. So, when trouble shows up again, your testimony becomes your strength.
As the old hymn reminds us: “Be not dismayed, whatever betide, God will take care of you.”
Now hear me clearly. Challenges will come this year. Life will still throw its curveballs. Even the most faithful among us will face moments that test our patience and our trust in God.
But here is the good news. The same God who brought you through your last storm is already standing in your next one. So, when life gets messy… When frustration shows up… When the road gets rough… Just remember this simple truth from the pew:
If He did it before… He can do it again.
