There’s a quote that’s always stuck with me. It says, “The graveyard is the richest place on earth.” Why? Because it’s where you’ll find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled. It’s where the books that were never written lie buried. It’s where the songs that were never sung, the businesses that were never started, the ideas that never made it off the notepad, and the inventions that were never shared all ended up—right along with the people who carried them.
Dreams died there not because they were impossible, but because someone was too afraid to take the first step. Too afraid to fail. Too afraid to look foolish. Too afraid to let go of the familiar.
And yet, faith was never meant to be comfortable.
Sometimes in life, God will ask you to step out before you can see the way. He’ll nudge you to move when the road ahead is still foggy. He’ll say “go” when you’re still waiting on the green light. But here’s the truth: God doesn’t need your comfort—He needs your yes. And when you give Him that yes, even trembling and unsure, He will meet you at the place of your obedience.
That’s what it means to take a leap of faith.
Faith doesn’t mean you won’t be scared. It just means you trust God more than you trust your fear.
I think about the story of Peter walking on water. Jesus didn’t build a dock. He didn’t toss out a life raft. He simply said, “Come.” And Peter did. For a moment, he walked on what should have drowned him—because his focus was on the One who called him. But the moment he started looking at the wind and waves, fear crept in. Sound familiar?
Some of us are sinking because we’re focused on the storm instead of the Savior.
Let me tell you this: If God gave you a vision, He’s already made the provision. If He placed a dream in your heart, He’s placed the strength inside you to fulfill it. But you’ll never know what’s possible until you move. You’ll never write that book, open that business, finish that degree, start that ministry, or break that cycle if you keep waiting for the perfect moment.
There is no perfect moment. There is only now—and now is enough if God is in it.
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” That means God’s plan for you is good—even if the path is unfamiliar. Even if it’s uncomfortable. Even if it requires you to let go of everything you thought you needed in order to finally walk into everything you were created to be.
You were made on purpose, with purpose, for a purpose.
So why not now? Why not you? Why not take the leap?
Because here’s what I’ve learned from my view from this pew: God will never let you fall when you’re walking in faith. He may let you stumble. He may let you stretch. But He will never let you fail—not when you’re aligned with His purpose.
There’s someone reading this who’s been sitting on a dream. You’ve been waiting for confirmation, for approval, for conditions to be just right. But God is saying, “Go.” Not because everything is ready, but because you are.
So go ahead—leap.
He’s already prepared the net.
