Attorney Robert Wadkins Jr. to Challenge Councilor Charmaine Crabb for District 5 Seat
The race for Columbus’ District 5 City Council seat is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched
Both fear and faith demand that you believe in something that hasn’t even happened yet. The only difference is what you choose to put your trust in.
Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. It’s the quiet whisper that tells you, “You can’t.” It’s the shadow that grows larger the more you stare at it. Fear magnifies problems and minimizes possibilities. It convinces you to retreat before the battle even begins. Fear has caused more dreams to die than failure ever has — because fear doesn’t need proof to stop you. It just needs your permission.
But faith — real faith — says, Forsaking All, I Trust Him. It’s the courage to step out when you can’t see the full staircase, believing that God built every step with purpose. Faith reminds you that you don’t walk by sight; you walk by trust. It’s knowing that when the road looks impossible, the One who called you to it is already clearing the way through it.
Faith doesn’t deny the existence of the storm; it simply declares that the storm does not have the final word. It’s what helps you sleep when the winds are howling and the waves are crashing, because you know who’s in the boat with you.
Every single day, we stand at a crossroads between fear and faith. One path leads to anxiety, hesitation, and regret. The other leads to courage, peace, and purpose. Fear says, “What if it doesn’t work?” Faith answers, “What if it does?” Fear says, “I’m not qualified.” Faith replies, “God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.” Fear sees obstacles; faith sees opportunities. Fear says, “The door is closed.” Faith says, “Then God must have a better one waiting.”
Let me remind you — the same energy it takes to feed your fear is the same energy it takes to fuel your faith. The choice is yours. You can believe in the lies fear tells, or you can believe in the promises God made.
So today, make a decision: silence the voice of fear and strengthen the voice of faith. Speak God’s word over your worry. Replace doubt with declaration. Trust that even when you can’t trace His hand, you can trust His heart.
Because fear and faith cannot live in the same house — and when faith moves in, fear has to move out.
Walk by faith, my friends, not by sight. Because what’s ahead of you is greater than what’s behind you, and God has already gone before you to make the crooked paths straight.
So the next time fear tries to whisper, “What if you fall?”— just smile and say, “What if I fly?”
