Judge Pythias “Pete” Temesgen exemplifies these values.
Appointed to the Muscogee County State Court bench by Governor Brian Kemp in 2022 and elected in 2024, Judge Temesgen has built a distinguished career rooted in integrity, excellence, and service. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law.
Prior to taking the bench, he practiced civil litigation and trial law with Huff Powell & Bailey LLP and worked in criminal defense. His legal journey has included service as an Assistant District Attorney in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit and as a law clerk in Columbus.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Judge Temesgen is a dedicated civic leader. He has taught at Columbus State University and served on numerous public commissions and community boards throughout Muscogee County. A proud 2019 graduate of Leadership Georgia, he continues to exemplify a life of purpose through public service and engagement.
