9-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot in Columbus; Police Seek Information

A 9-year-old boy was fatally shot on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, in Columbus, authorities said.

Columbus police officers responded to the 1300 block of Floyd Road at 8:36 p.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Lakeith Livingston, 9, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency medical services transported Lakeith to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where an ER doctor pronounced him dead at 9:03 p.m., police said.

The department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
